 About Redwood Prep

A rigorous program built on five core values.

01. Academic Excellence

02. Social Responsibility

03. Community

04. Whole Child

05. Shared Leadership

Redwood Preparatory Charter School is committed to offering a quality, rigorous and meaningful educational program that sets students on the path to college, and empowers them to become productive, healthy, ethical citizens in a changing society.

Through participation in classroom, school, local and global communities, Redwood Prep nurtures respect for diversity and civic responsibility. We provide a vigorous learning community that reflects and supports common, core values. Children develop social responsibility and feel a greater sense of belonging in an environment which promotes close, long‑term relationships between classmates and teachers.

Students thrive when offered opportunities to expand experiences through enrichment. Redwood Prep fosters a culture of exploration through programs and choices that promote individual and collaborative inquiry — integrating drama, music, art, technology, and athletics into the curriculum to educate the whole child.

  —What Makes Us Unique—

Two things you
won’t find
 just anywhere.

→ 01 · UDL Showcase

A Living Laboratory for Inclusion.

We don’t just talk about inclusion — we model it for the entire state. As an Open Access Statewide Showcase Site, educators come from across the region to see Universal Design for Learning in action.

The UDL Difference

We proactively remove barriers from the start — never wait for a student to struggle.

Empowered Learners

Students choose how they take in information and express what they’ve learned.

Relational Roots

Deep, authentic relationships — every child is known, seen, and valued.

→ 02 · STEAM Every day

Where Innovation Meets Peak Performance.

We prove every day that a high-support environment leads to high-achievement results.

Proven Results

Our commitment to every student shows in our data. More than 50% of our students meet or exceed state standards on the CAASPP, consistently outperforming expectations through rigorous, accessible instruction.

Daily Discovery in the STEAM Lab

Innovation isn't an elective here; it’s a daily habit. Every student from Kindergarten through 6th Grade visits our dedicated STEAM (Science | Technology | Engineering | Art | Mathematics) Lab every single day. This unique daily rotation allows students to bridge the gap between theory and hands-on creation, fostering a "maker" mindset from their very first day of school.
