Back-to-School Updates and The Giver

Hello!

As you know, we have assessments next week. Please have your child return summer reading selections at that time. The books are on loan from the Humboldt County Office of Education.

As an optional end-of-summer activity, we will meet at the Fortuna Theater on Thursday, August 21st at 7:00pm to watch The Giver. We contacted the theater to see if we are eligible for a group rate but haven't heard back. At this point, please be prepared to pay the following admission prices:

General Admission $9.00

Children (11 & under) $6.50

Our middle school day is a tad bit longer to allow for adequate time to implement Project Lead the Way. Start time is 8am and our day ends at 3:30pm. We have morning supervision from 7:30am-8:00am. Please do not drop off students earlier than 7:30am.

When dropping off students, please follow all traffic rules. FYI There is no left turn access when traveling east on Newburg Road. We encourage you to plan out a convenient drop-off route prior to the first day of school.

Mark your calendar:

Come celebrate the first week of school...we are hosting a school-wide BBQ on Thursday, August 28th at 6 (Ross Hill campus).

The middle school Back-to-School night is Thursday, September 4th at 6:00 (the K-5 event will be on Thursday the 11th so that families with children at both sites can attend both evenings).
